There is one eternal God who exists in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. God created all that exists, and He cares for and is committed to the world He has made. He is holy and exalted and lives in ‘unapproachable light’. Yet He lives with the ‘contrite and lowly in spirit’ and is an ever-present help in times of trouble. John 3:16; Romans 8:18-23; Isaiah 57:15; Psalm 46:1.
Jesus Christ is the human incarnation of God. He lived a perfect life, died for our sins, was bodily raised from the dead, and ascended to heaven where He now sits at the right hand of the Father. Jesus is the sovereign Lord. He is coming again to judge the world and to save those who put their trust in Him. He alone is able to rescue us from the destruction caused by sin. John 1:1 & 1:14; Colossians 2:9; Acts 2:35; Philippians 2:6-11; Hebrews 12:2; Acts 4:12; 2 Thessalonians 1:6-10
The Holy Spirit has been sent to testify about Jesus Christ. He lives within Christians; bringing new life, holiness, and assurance of salvation. John 15:26; Galatians 4:6; Titus 3:5-6; 2 Thessalonians 2:13; Ephesians 1:13-14
The Bible is the inspired word of God and bears witness to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The human authors who penned the various books and letters that make up the Bible were guided by the Holy Spirit to speak the words of God, so that Scripture is authoritative for our faith and conduct. 2 Timothy 3:15-16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; John 5:39-40; Luke 24:44-49
Salvation is a gift from our gracious God, accomplished through the atoning death of Jesus Christ on the cross. We receive this gift by believing in the Savior, Jesus Christ. Tangible expressions of our faith are repentance and baptism (immersion in water) for the forgiveness of sins. Romans 6:23; Ephesians 1:7; Acts 2:38
The Church includes all those who have been saved by Christ. The Lord Jesus desire that his people be unified, that they love one another, and that they spread the good news about Jesus. John 17:20-23 & 13:34-35; Matthew 28:18-20.
